We watched this relatively high-based line segment approach Great Salt Plains Reservoir from the west when we noticed some curious demarcations between a laminar and turbulent cloud bases. Presumably it was some turbulence as a result of flow going over

I looked up and saw this spectacular demarcation between a laminar and turbulent cloud base ahead of a squall line. It almost looked like the turbulence I saw after pouring milk into a cup of coffee. There were even some nice vortices and swirls similar
